Welcome to The Scrap Haus
The Scrap Haus is a crafting retreat located right inside Massanutten Resort in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, approximately a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Washington DC Beltway. Completely renovated in early 2019, The Scrap Haus was customized and furnished to be an ideal retreat for crafters. It features comfortable and spacious sleeping and crafting accommodations for up to 8 guests. Set back from the road, The Scrap Haus provides privacy as well as spacious driveway and garage parking for 7-8 cars.
A 2 level home, the second level has 4 bedrooms to comfortably sleep 8 and 2 full baths. The main level features the crop room with direct access from the garage, a 1/2 bath, living room, dining area with full seating for all 8 guests and a fully equipped kitchen. High speed wireless internet is available throughout the house.
About the Haus
Living Room
Features genuine leather seating surrounding an electric fireplace and a large flat screen HDTV. Roku TV provides access to over 220 channels, your personal streaming services, or DVDs are available for the BlueRay player.
Kitchen
The kitchen features new granite countertops with a tile backsplash. Well lit and fully equipped, the kitchen has ample cookware and utensils to support a large group. The all-new appliances include a smooth top range, side by side refrigerator, Keurig machine, large countertop toaster oven, crock-pot, blender and other small appliances.
Dining Area
The large dining table seats all 8 guests comfortably and enables everyone to enjoy meals together.
Bathroom 1
Shown here is the full bath on the second level. Luxury bath towels are provided for each guest which includes a wash cloth, hand towel and a bath towel.
Bathroom 2
Shown here is the 3/4 bath on the second level. In addition to the two bathrooms on the second level, there is also a half bath located on the main floor conveniently located across from the crop room.
The Crop Room
The Crop Room was designed and furnished to accommodate all of your crafting needs. It is located on the main level of the house with direct access from the garage. The crop room itself is well lit by overhead lighting and features eight 5'x3' tables, each equipped with a large craft mat, an Ott light, a wire shelf and a trash can. Adjustable, rolling, padded chairs provide comfortable seating while crafting. Power towers with USB ports are located on the tables to provide additional power and to charge your cell phones and tablets. Two large flat screen HDTVs are mounted on opposite sides of the room so everyone has a view. Roku TV provides access to over 220 channels or access to your personal streaming services. We also have a wide selection of DVDs available to watch on the BlueRay player.
An additional work room is located directly off the crop room with a work center set up with a computer monitor and a laser printer for all of your printing and journaling needs. Located in this room is also a large flat surface space to display your projects or to use your tools and supplies.

Rates & Reservations
Rental rates for a 3 night rental beginning either Thursday - Sunday or Friday - Monday, are below. Check-in is at 2:00 pm on the arrival date and check-out is by 4:00 pm on the departure date. Extra nights are available at $255 per night.
In addition to the rental rate, a refundable security deposit of $400 is required.
In order to reserve The Scrap Haus a deposit of $400 is required upon booking. The remaining balance of the rental rate, plus cleaning fee and security deposit is due 15 days prior to check in. The security deposit will be refunded within two weeks of the departure date, assuming there are no damages.

How much is the deposit?
In order to reserve The Scrap Nest, a deposit of $400.00 is required to reserve your stay. The remaining balance of the rental rate, sales & occupancy tax, cleaning fee and $400 refundable security deposit, is due 15 days prior to check in. The refundable security deposit will be refunded within two weeks of the departure date assuming there are no significant damages.
What do we need to bring?
Guests need to bring food, drinks and snacks. The kitchen has everything necessary to prepare and serve meals. Also provided are bed linens, towels (bath, hand and wash), a limited supply of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags) and cleaning supplies (dishwashing liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets). Liquid hand soap is provided, however guests will need to bring their own personal items (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.).
For your convenience, a general store is located on the resort and a Dollar General and Food Lion are located within 5 miles of the house. Additional grocery stores as well as other shopping, i.e. Walmart, Target, etc. is located 20 minutes away in Harrisonburg.
What crafting supplies do we need to bring?
You will want to bring most of your supplies. The crop room supplies each crafter with a 5'x3' table, rolling padded adjustable chair, large craft mat, Ott light, wire shelf and trash can. A laser printer for journaling is also available.
Both Michaels and Hobby Lobby craft stores are located in Harrisonburg approximately 20 minutes from the resort should you need any additional crafting supplies during your stay.
What restaurants are nearby?
There are several restaurants within 5 miles of the resort and even a greater selection of restaurants located 20 minutes away in Harrisonburg. The local Dominos as well as one our favorite restaurants, Romano's Italian Bistro (www.romanositalianbistro.com), will deliver to the house. There is a guest book at the house with menus and directions to local restaurants.
Where can I get a massage?
We recommend the Spa at Massanutten Resort. Located across the street from the entrance to the resort, the spa offers facials, manicures, pedicures and waxing services in addition to massages. Go to https://www.massresort.com/relax/ for more information or call (540) 289-4040.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 2:00 pm on the arrival date and check-out is 4:00 pm on the departure date.
Who do I contact if I have any issues during my stay?
The Scrap Nest has a local property manager on call to handle any maintenance issues. You may also call or text us directly at 703-599-6342 if the property manager is unable to resolve any issues.
Policies
Cancellation policy
If a guest wishes to cancel their reservation the cancellation must be in writing or via e-mail, payments will be refunded as follows:
50% of Rent/Reservation deposit paid if cancelled at least 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
0% of Rent/Reservation deposit paid if cancelled less than 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
Any payments made for the Security Deposit or Cleaning Fee are fully refundable.
Smoking and pet policy
Neither pets nor smoking are allowed anywhere on the property, which includes the house, porch, deck and grounds. No exceptions allowed.
Other Policies
ALL surfaces (tables, craft mats, indoor, outdoor and garage flooring, etc.) MUST be covered before using sprays paints inks, or shellacs in order to avoid charges against your security deposit.

Any tables that have been rearranged MUST be put back to their original configuration before you leave as our housecleaning crew will not do this. This also applies to chairs, wire shelves, trash cans and power strips.

Be respectful of the craft room and its contents. We understand accidents happen and/or things break. Let us know immediately so we can replace it.
